Looks like NC State is going to be taking part in what they're calling the National Wrestling Duals. National Duals were a thing at the end of the dual season every year, but then politics (basically certain coaches refusing to go certain places) messed them up for everybody.
Glad something of the sort is coming back … and this is an absolutely loaded field with five of the top seven teams from last year taking part, plus fellow ACC powerhouse Virginia Tech and Cornell, which would've been a top-five NCAA team last year if the Ivy League didn't cancel sports.
The second-to-last year of national duals was when NC State when on the road and beat Iowa to become the first team ever to go on the road and beat OK State and Iowa in the same year.
Per the link in the tweet below, looks like there will be some pool play, separating conference teams, and then a four-team bracket to determine a winner. I love it, this is great for college wrestling and NC State wrestling.
