Good read on former NC State wrestler Max Rohskopf, who went viral for all the wrong reasons last June, when he took a UFC fight on a week's notice at a time there weren't a whole lot of sports going on and was the biggest headline afterwards because he "quit on the stool."
I remember that leading SportsCenter that night … tough situation for a guy that may not have been ready for that level of a fight/spotlight (and Max is one hell of a story — came from an abusive home, literally "recruited himself" to NC State because his childhood friend/wrestling teammate was at Duke and he couldn't get in there, became a key part of Wolfpack wrestling's rise by wrestling at whatever weight they needed him — seriously, he started at three different weights as a freshman — and won an individual ACC title before an injury derailed the end of his career … ).
He was released from the UFC a week or so after his debut with the organization, but has not really resurfaced publicly since. He talks about everything in this piece from MMA Junkie:
