Last season, I felt that Casey Morsell was our best on ball defender. Jarkell Joiner was pretty good as well.
Last night, during the last 5-7 minutes of the game - I was impressed with Jaylen Taylor's ability to "stay in front" of Wake Forest's PG and not let him penetrate. This caused the entire Wake offense to sputter. The Wake PG had made clutch plays in other games that I have watched, but Taylor's defense was a deal breaker. If you have time, go back and watch JTaylor's "bending his knees, moving his feet, fighting through picks"
If defense wins games, JT set the tone for the rest of the season. Great fundamental defense, hustle, and positioning! Hopefully, some of the other players will realize what an impact great defense makes on the whole team.
