NC State coach Dave Doeren has never liked Friday games, and would rather have them on a Thursday, but money drives everything in the sport, which we know more than ever with salaries skyrocketing and the ratings are off to a terrific start with more and more people energized by the fun chaos of college football (see Colorado).

With the next two weeks involving two Friday games, it also means two Friday's missed watching players. Doeren views it as two Friday's he won't have the option of seeing his son play at Cardinal Gibbons. Some high schools in other states play on Saturday's, so seeing some players in other parts of the region could happen.

For the home game against Louisville, it means recruits won't be there unless they have an off week. The recruits can DVR the two games, but they'll be playing at the same time.

The trade off is great national publicity with this Friday's game, just Wisconsin at Purdue on FS1 on television. The Louisville game, the next time slot up is at 9 p.m. with Utah at Oregon State on FS1.
