The list for the Alpha Wolf has continued to grow since last week’s The Run Down.
Offensive tackle commit Charlie Symonds confirmed that he was going to make it. Junior wide receivers Jonathan Paylor and Kareem Jackson, cornerback Jivan Baly and junior tight end Kylan Fox confirmed at various points they weren’t going to make it. Look for Baly to return for a Wolfpack game in the fall.
A couple of interesting additions is that cornerback Brandon Cisse is bringing his Sumter (S.C.) Lakewood junior linebacker teammate Seneca Moore, who seems intriguing.
The 6-foot-2, 205-pounder is very much under the radar at this point, but his film is intriguing. Obviously, NC State has a strong in with him at this point. He also did the high jump at 6 feet, 4 inches, which was two inches shy of NCSU defensive back commit Zack Myers this past spring.
Another interesting recruit is sophomore quarter Dan Mahan of Charlotte Myers Park. Burlington area fans would know him better at this point as he played for Williams High.

Cornerback Brandon Cisse
Athlete Tamarcus Cooley
Defensive back Zack Myers
Offensive lineman Obadiah Obasuyi

2. Senior wide receiver Kevin Concepcion of Charlotte Chambers left some wiggle room because his team practices the next day.
The Wolfpack Central visited Concepcion on Monday and he let us know he’ll be committing Aug. 19, which is the day before Chambers plays Raleigh Cardinal Gibbons at 4:30 p.m. in Rock Hill, S.C., on a Saturday. The announcement will come at his school, and while Chambers isn’t playing that night, the guess is that Concepcion will want to see some friends at other schools play, meaning it won’t happen at night time.
Concepcion wasn’t quite sure if he was going to shut down his recruitment following his commitment, regardless of who he picks. He would like to visit some other colleges this fall, but that will be a discussion he’ll need to have with his committed college coach.
Concepcion didn’t want to let on who between NC State or UNC was his leader, and some of his good friends on the team didn’t know either. One of his close friends did joke with him that he shouldn’t go to North Carolina.
The other recruits like Concepcion and he’ll be one more voice in the ears of wide receiver Noah Rogers (Ohio State commit) and running back Dylan Smothers (Oklahoma).
I do know many are trying to use Christian Hamilton’s commit to UNC as a wedge with Concepcion. The two are friends, which I saw first-hand after Chambers knocked out Harrisburg (N.C.) Hickory Ridge in the playoffs. Concepcion, Smothers and Hamilton took some group pictures after the game.
The theory though is that Hamilton and Concepcion both do their best work out of the slot and that is where NC State could have an advantage.
Also, not that I believe in the rubber wrist band theory of recruiting, but Concepcion wears four of them, and they are all NC State ones.
