1. The recruiting sausage is definitely being made in June now.

In fact, look for NC State to have less one-day camp days in the future due to the mass amount of official visits that happen in June. The Wolfpack have shrunk the one-day camps to six this month, which ends on Saturday, and also had a 7-on-7 event Thursday.

The camp season usually has 3-to-5 guys emerge each day, though one day, nothing really emerged. The 7-on-7 should remain, and it helped get Charlotte (N.C.) Providence Day senior wide receiver Jordan Shipp back on campus, along with Wolfpack commit teammate Brody Barnhardt. Chargers quarterback Zaid Lott, who has a Charlotte offer, showed he could have next at the program.

Wake Forest (N.C.) High linebacker commit Zane Williams was also in the 7-on-7. Like Shipp, Matthews (N.C.) Weddington senior wide receiver Keenan Jackson returned to campus. Shipp and Jackson both officially visited last week.

NC State will have eight uncommitted visitors this weekend, and if the Wolfpack could land five of them by say Tuesday, that’s a heck of a weekend. Snellville (Ga.) South Gwinnett tackle Marcus Mascoll will decide his future home Monday, with Florida and LSU in the mix.

Greensboro (N.C.) Grimsley wide receiver Terrell Anderson, Gulf Shores (Ala.) High defensive back Ronnie Royal III and Gastonia (N.C.) Ashbrook tackle Trent Mitchell could be on the fast track to decisions.

Official visitors this weekend:

Josh Alexander-Felton | Terrell Anderson | Brody Barnhardt | Cedrick Bailey | Asaad Brown | Robby Martin | Marcus Mascoll | Trent Mitchell | Jonathan Paylor | Ronnie Royal III | Jayden “Duke” Scott | Alex Taylor

2. An intriguing prospect is expected to make an official visit to NC State at some point, perhaps in late June.

Oroville (Calif.) Butte C.C. tight end Connor Gilbreath doesn’t do many interviews, but he did talk to LSU Rivals this week and gave an update.

Gilbreath went to Redding (Calif.) High and arrived at Butte C.C. at 6-foot-5 and 245 pounds, but redshirted last year. He will be eligible for a Division I college this fall.

Gilbreath is now 6-6 and 270 pounds, and there is a good chance that NC State will make him a full-time tackle, and offensive line coach Garett Tujague went out to see him this spring.

Gilbreath will officially visit LSU on Thursday-Saturday this wekeend, and in today’s college recruiting landscape, he could be off the board just as fast as he got on the board. The Tigers have told him he could be a tight end this season, but perhaps a tackle down the road. NC State, Washington, Miami (Fla.), Colorado, Mississippi State, Arizona and Missouri have also offered.

Gilbreath officially visited Arizona on June 7-9, and following his trip to LSU, he’ll see Mississippi State, then Colorado and finish up at NC State.

It doesn’t look like Clayton (N.C.) High senior wide receiver/track star Dazmin James will renege on his Arkansas signing, but NC State is still looking to fine-tune the roster.

Eastern Illinois graduate transfer Dom Shoffner was offered a scholarship by NC State on Wednesday, as the Wolfpack aim for insurance behind Brennan Armstrong and MJ Morris.

The Apex (N.C.) Middle Creek product was originally in the class of 2017, and he’s been to North Carolina Central, Rochester (N.Y.) Monroe Junior College, Charlotte and Eastern Illinois.

3. The last few weeks have helped NC State add several football targets for the class of 2026.

This would be the group of guys who will be recruited for a long period of time. The first in-state wave started with Reidsville High tight end/defensive end Kendre’ Harrison, who at this time last year, I had pegged as a future Wolfpack basketball target.

The nephew of former NCSU wing C.C. Harrison is now recruited by just about everybody in football. To show how important Harrison has become, Alabama and Florida State football had its basketball programs invite Reidsville to team camps. That is pretty gangster.

Cornelius Hough cornerback Samari Matthews and Greensboro Grimsley quarterback Faizon Brandon have both been offered and will be key targets moving forward.

Charlotte Myers Park wide receiver Brody Keefe, who played at Waxhaw Marvin Ridge last year, was offered by NC State and Georgia.

The offensive line has gotten a makeover with eight prospects offered in 2026. Bear McWhorter of Cartersville (Ga.) Cass has been offered and came through camp in June, and his prep teammate Kail Ellis is arriving today, who also has an offer.

Greensboro (N.C.) Page tackle Junior Saunders, South Garner (N.C.) High tackle Ekene Ogboko and Charlotte Providence Day tackle Leo Delaney have also been offered this month. Delaney, who got his offer Thursday, played at Charlotte East Mecklenburg last year.

Another interest prospect who has been offered is wide receiver Chris Henry Jr. of Cincinnati (Ohio) Withrow High. Henry’s father played at West Virginia and in the NFL and tragically passed away in 2009. His WVU and Bengals teammate Adam “Pacman” Jones adopted Chris Jr. NC State defensive coordinator and linebackers coach Tony Gibson coached at West Virginia when Henry and Jones played there.
