DraftExpress.com has NC State freshman point guard Dennis Smith going No. 8 to the New York Knicks. They aren't alone. They don't have freshman center Omer Yurtseven going in the second round anymore in this year's draft, but have him No. 45 for the 2018 NBA Draft.

ESPN.com's Chad Ford has Smith also going No. 8 to the New York Knicks.

The Ringer's Kevin O'Connor also has Smith going No. 8 to the Knicks.

NBADraft.net has Smith going No. 7 to the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Fred Kerber of the New York Post took a shot with a mock draft, and had Smith going No. 9 to the Dallas Mavericks.

If you are Smith, you are hoping for No. 9 and the Dallas Mavericks. Stable organization and only have to beat out Kevin "Yogi" Ferrell, where if you can't do that, then probably not a starting NBA point guard. The future would be Smith, center Nerlens Noel and small forward Harrison Barnes, with possibly power forward Dwight Powell, combo guard Seth Curry, small forward Dorian Finney-Smith and Ferrell as rotational guys.
