Why another year?

Half full stadium, 1-4 in conference, a style of play that is consistently inconsistent and an almost sure defection to the NBA by your best player at the end of the season. I am finding it rather hard to see why next year will be better than this year. And if most think it won’t be, then why wait to end it next year?
