This is a huge event with some of the best wrestlers in the country competing that starts at 10 a.m. The only NC State guy in action today will be Jarrett Trombley, a freshman who redshirted this past season. He's likely the starter at 133 pounds next season and will be at 61 kg this weekend. A former NCSU wrestler, Joe DeAngelo, who is now an assistant at Army, will also be in action today — but he is wrestling Greco-Roman (you can't attack below the waist, so a lot of upper body and throws) at 55 kg.

I'm working on a preview now (most of the NC State guys don't get rolling until tomorrow), but in the meantime…

Here's a (free) video from FloWrestling explaining the process in 2 minutes: https://www.flowrestling.org/video/...orld-team-trials-challenge-tournament-process

Here's the GoPack preview: https://gopack.com/news/2019/5/16/w...um-hosts-world-team-trials-friday-sunday.aspx

Keep in mind, this is freestyle wrestling (for the most part), which is a little different than what they do in college. It's still wrestling though, and making the finals here clinches a spot on the World Team for this year's World Championships (or, if hypothetically this was next year, the Olympic team).

If you have questions about this, I'll do my best to answer, so fire away! I'll be updating this thread about all 11 guys with ties to NC State throughout the weekend…
