The roster now sits at 83 players...

I had mentioned in The Run Down that NC State's roster situation will come more into focus. It now sits at maybe 83 players. My guess is around 8-9 more guys will probably organically depart over the next several months, but it gives a ballpark figure on how many scholarships could be in play for the future.

What will be interesting is that next years sophomore class, which is a mixture of classes due to the COVID year, and now four members of the 2022 class joined it, will be overwhelming bigger than the other classes. NC State could have a ton of seniors for the 2025 season, which would be MJ Morris' senior year, and probably when expectations go way up again.

Football Jasiah Provillon makes it official...

Redshirt junior wide receiver Jasiah Provillon walked on Senior Day, and he made it official today. First wide receiver I have ever called the "blocking" wide receiver. He was the go-to on running down to come in and block. He finished with two catches for 58 yards, both happening in 2019. I do think he would have scored a touchdown on a goal line play this year, but either a timeout was quickly called or there was a false start penalty, but something happened.

OT: CU vs UNC

After some initial drama, ol Cade has come in and working over a bad UNC defense. Don’t care for either team, but couldn’t stomach a UNC crown so I’ll gladly take this!

I will say that Clemson’s secondary is not very good and I’ve been surprised by the lack of pressure from their front 4. They have good backers and they have made some plays.

Tim Beck Legacy

Probably not going to get a lot of appreciation but here are some facts. We are 25-11 since his arrival. He lost his starting QB for they year in 2 of his 3 seasons. Additionally, he lost his replacement QB in one of those seasons. The only season that he had his starting QB healthy, we threw for 3,400 with 35/5 and went 9-3 regular season, with a T10 win.
Say what you will about “benefiting from one of the best defenses in school history” or “winning despite TB”, the numbers are the numbers and 25-11, while losing your starting QB 2 out of 3, is some extraordinary stuff based on NC State football history..
