YouTubeTV and State Games ?

Do those of you who subscribe to YouTubeTV receive most of State’s football/basketball games when not televised on
on ESPN/ACC networks? We are considering switching service from Fubo who has regional network access, with fees. I noticed Raycom has recently entered into agreement with CW to televise about 50 ACC football games this season. Any input is greatly appreciated.

RIP Larry Beightol

Saddened to hear news that Coach Beightol passed away yesterday at age 81, I believe. He was Lou Holtz’s o-line coach at State when I was in grad school there. But I first met “Coach Beck” when he coached at my high school outside Richmond, Va before joining Coach Holtz at W&M. He went on to have a long career in the NFL, well-respected and well-liked by players and coaches wherever he went it seems.

Media coverage of the Pack

With this run comes some attention we rarely get. It is a real positive for a program that has not been able to garner much attention over Keatts tenure. But that is changing. I tought we could post articles on this thread from a different sources. I'll start with another one from a not so sport specific source - WSJ. I recognize this likely is block by a pay wall but most important is about State and that is nothing but great exposure for our school.

Recruiting Brandon Huntley-Hatfield has a final four...

From all accounts, the official visit with Louisville center transfer Brandon Huntley-Hatfield has been going great and some think NC State could close the deal with its sizable war chest of NIL funds. However, Huntley-Hatfield posted tonight a new final four with NC State, Pittsburgh, Connecticut and a possible return to Louisville.

Personally, I think Huntley-Hatfield would be a perfect one-two punch in being paired with Ben Middlebrooks, with maybe Huntley-Hatfield playing center 25-30 minutes a game. The one concern with him, along with all the Louisville players, they've picked up such bad habits and have forgotten how to win after going 12-52 the last two years. So, his next school will need to coach the Kenny Payne out of him, similar to what happened this past year with Elbert Ellis at Arkansas and Jae'Lyn Withers at North Carolina.

The Law of the Jungle

Analysis (ai): "The Law of the Jungle" by Rudyard Kipling succinctly outlines the hierarchical social structure and behavioral code of the animal kingdom. It emphasizes the importance of unity, loyalty, and respect within the pack, and adherence to ancient traditions. The poem's didactic tone is reminiscent of traditional folklore, conveying practical wisdom and moral guidelines.

Compared to Kipling's other works, such as "The Jungle Book," this poem focuses more on the abstract principles of jungle society rather than specific characters or adventures. Its concise and structured language creates a sense of authority and timelessness.

Now this is the Law of the Jungle — as old and as true as the sky;
And the Wolf that shall keep it may prosper, but the Wolf that shall break it must die.
As the creeper that girdles the tree trunk the Law runneth forward and back —
For the strength of the Pack is the Wolf, and the strength of the Wolf is the Pack.

Wash daily from nose-tip to tail-tip; drink deeply, but never too deep;
And remember the night is for hunting, and forget not the day is for sleep.
The Jackal may follow the Tiger, but, Cub, when thy whiskers are grown,
Remember the Wolf is a Hunter — go forth and get food of thine own.
Keep peace with Lords of the Jungle — the Tiger, the Panther, and the Bear.
And trouble, not Hathi the Silent, and mock not the Boar in his lair.
When Pack meets with Pack in the Jungle, and neither will go from the trail,
Lie down till the leaders have spoken — it may be fair words shall prevail.
When ye fight with a Wolf of the Pack, ye must fight him alone and afar,
Lest others take part in the quarrel, and the Pack be diminished by war.
The Lair of the Wolf is his refuge, and where he has made him his home,
Not even the Head Wolf may enter, not even the Council may come.
The Lair of the Wolf is his refuge, but where he has digged it too plain,
The Council shall send him a message, and so he shall change it again.
If ye kill before midnight, be silent, and wake not the woods with your bay,
Lest ye frighten the deer from the crop, and your brothers go empty away.
Ye may kill for yourselves, and your mates, and your cubs as they need, and ye can;
But kill not for pleasure of killing, and seven times never kill Man!
If ye plunder his Kill from a weaker, devour not all in thy pride;
Pack-Right is the right of the meanest; so leave him the head and the hide.
The Kill of the Pack is the meat of the Pack. Ye must eat where it lies;
And no one may carry away of that meat to his lair, or he dies.
The Kill of the Wolf is the meat of the Wolf. He may do what he will;
But, till he has given permission, the Pack may not eat of that Kill.
Cub-Right is the right of the Yearling. From all of his Pack he may claim
Full-gorge when the killer has eaten; and none may refuse him the same.
Lair-Right is the right of the Mother. From all of her year she may claim
One haunch of each kill for her litter, and none may deny her the same.
Cave-Right is the right of the Father — to hunt by himself for his own:
He is freed of all calls to the Pack; he is judged by the Council alone.
Because of his age and his cunning, because of his gripe and his paw,
In all that the Law leaveth open, the word of your Head Wolf is Law.
Now these are the Laws of the Jungle, and many and mighty are they;
But the head and the hoof of the Law and the haunch and the hump is — Obey!

Remembering Laettner and Shaq and a question I'd like to ask ...

I recall watching Christian Laettner school Shag when they payed against each other, Duke v LSU. obviously, Shaq was a physical specimen and became an all-time great. But when LSU came to Durham, laettnet would step outside to hit jumper after jumper. When Shaq was forced to follow Laettner outside to try and slow down the jumpers, Laettner would drive right around him to the basket. No matter which poison Shaq chose, LAettner would make him pay.

My question has to do with the impending matchups, big man Zach Edey (7'4") versus D J Burns Jr., (6'9"). Does D J have enough of an outside game to draw Edey outside? To me, that is a key to the game in that it unclogs the middle, a behemoth giant would be forced to do something he may not want to do, and/or be good at it. What do you think?
