I got to talk to Matthews (N.C.) Weddington junior defensive end Aiden Harris, and he mostly spent his time with defensive line coach Charley Wiles and assistant defensive line coach Elisa Shaw. He was going to visit NC State on June 6-8, but now will change it to a different weekend he said. He just wasn't sure which one. He also thinks the new defense will be better for his twin brother Andrew Harris.
Aiden Harris also got to see former NC State quarterback Philip Rivers for the second time in his life. Rivers was there Friday with his sophomore quarterback son, Gunner. Aiden Harris was with his uncle Thomas Davis, who played for the Carolina Panthers, and had met Philip Rivers years ago when the Panthers played at the San Diego Chargers.
Harrisburg (N.C.) Hickory Ridge junior defensive end Jace McCallum came to NC State for the first time since he attended a game last fall. I got the sense that NC State, Virginia Tech, Virginia and Duke, are firmly at the top of his list. He's a great student, and he felt there was just something extra whenever he goes to NC State. NC State has done a good job of showing him how fits in the new defense.
NC State also offered Dallas (Ga.) Paulding County junior guard Tyreek Jemison, who came through Friday.
