I have irritated more than a few folks with my frequent bemoaning of our financial support. I just received some awesome information. For this school year, we have donations and pledges that total more than $29MM to support NC State athletics. That represents almost a 100% increase in just two years. While we aren’t yet at the big time programs levels (CU is on track for $85MM+), the response is impressive and the fund raisers and donors deserve some applause. Outside of Clemson, Miami, FSU and SMU, we now have the financial support to slug it out with the rest of the conference. Interestingly, several of the largest donors still want basketball to be our flagship sport. I mainly wanted to shine a light on the fact that WP Nation has really responded, in a fantastic way, to the amazing year we enjoyed in ‘23-‘24.
