• Obviously there is a report out there that Ledford is going to take a job at Louisville. We have not heard anything to independently confirm the report, but we have received subtle indications that would validate FootballScoop's report.

• We mentioned in the War Room former UNC o-line coach Chris Kapilovic as a potential candidate to replace Ledford and we think there's a possibility this could be the case. Here's what we wrote:

Kapilovic’s offensive line this year only allowed 10 sacks in 11 games, which was sixth fewest in the country, and the Heels averaged 193.0 yards rushing per contest. More impressive was its 5.28 yards per carry, which was 21st best at the FBS level and fourth in the ACC. NC State was 3.87 yards this year. Offensive tackles William Sweet and Charlie Heck were named first and second-team All-ACC by Pro Football Focus respectively.

We can also say that Kapilovic, who is not being retained by Mack Brown, has a good reputation as a recruiter around the Triad area in the state and elsewhere.

• One other name that might be worth watching is Ty Howle, a former graduate assistant at NC State and son of former Bunn (N.C.) High head coach David Howle. Howle, who played at Penn State, has been the offensive line coach at Western Illinois with apparent good results and been promoted over the years to co-offensive coordinator and assistant head coach.

• In other coaching news ... Auburn has filled its offensive coordinator position with Memphis OC Kenny Dillingham, in case anyone was wondering if Eli Drinkwitz was still a possibility there. Tennessee appears to be zeroing in on Mike Yurcich from Oklahoma State.
