Just watched Kernersville (N.C.) East Forsyth hold on against Raleigh Cardinal Gibbons 24-21 at UNC. Cardinal Gibbons got down to about the 23-yard line or 24, but then got sacked twice to set up fourth down and forever and that was that.

NC State junior wide receiver target Jacob Gill had a 39-yard catch that helped set up a nifty three-yard grab for the first score of the game in the first quarter. Gill has an NC State offer and will likely be a slot receiver in college. He may not be a blazer but has good body control. He did have one drop that he wishes he had back.

Talked to injured junior wide receiver Micah Crowell of East Forsyth. His brother is at Virginia and his dad was a standout wide receiver at UVA and played in the NFL, but I don't see Micah going there. UNC and Wake Forest have done some good early work, but he's also going to unofficially visit Ohio State in January, so some heavy hitters could eventually get involved. He's not getting the buzz most Rivals.com No. 115-ranked players get because he tore his MCL and hasn't played this season. He thinks he's 2-3 months away from being 100 percent. Crowell did attend a Wolfpack home football game this season.
