The College Basketball Crown was invented by FOX television to take care of leagues under the FOX umbrella. It will also start later with the first round March 31, which for some of these teams, could be gutted by the portal or even have a new head coach by then, like Villanova.

Monday, March 31
  • Game 1: Utah vs. Butler - 3 p.m. ET (FS1)
  • Game 2: George Washington vs. Boise State - 5:30 p.m. ET (FS1)
  • Game 3: Nebraska vs. Arizona State - 8:30 p.m. ET (FS1)
  • Game 4: Georgetown vs. Washington State - 11 p.m. ET (FS1)
Tuesday, April 1
  • Game 5: DePaul vs. Cincinnati - 3 p.m. ET (FS1)
  • Game 6: Oregon State vs. UCF - 5:30 p.m. ET (FS1)
  • Game 7: Colorado vs. Villanova - 8:30 p.m. ET (FS1)
  • Game 8: Tulane vs. USC - 11 p.m. ET (FS1)
The NIT has four ACC teams in the field due to ESPN (and Wake Forest turned it down). The NIT kicks off March 18-19 and runs until April 3 at Hinkle Fieldhouse (home of Butler).

A lot of good mid-major teams that didn't win its league tournament also in the field, unlike the Crown, which is more "bigger schools."
