I'll guess financially it makes sense for the Charlotte Hornets to not give star point guard Kemba Walker a mega contract since he's 29 years old, but no one wants to watch Shelvin Mack run the show for a year. Take Walker out of the mix and it screams 5-year rebuilding plan with perhaps only P.J. Washington, Miles Bridges and Malik Monk still on the team by the end of it.
For the Celtics, it would be a terrific recovery in light of Kyrie Irving flaking out. At 29 years old, he should have 3-4 years of high level play left and he's ready to play on the big stage again.
