Presidential Politics

See… that’s the thing… even just a passing comment on this board is a doorway into a rabbit hole, into a ditch, into a bottomless pit! Conversation on here is impossible! It’s absolutely effin’ ri-gd-diculous that a passing comment on a firebombing at a political hq in NM got diverted to a 3rd term questionnaire, and from that turned into some kinda convoluted deep dive into nazi tariffs and the downfall of American agriculture! Now telling me who I am and what I have, and why! You presumptuous sob! I don’t call out anyone on here! Never have! But for some reason that courtesy is not reciprocated. And still nobody has bothered to comment on the firebombing. Eff all of you!

Triggered me because you’re such a pompous ass hole! Who’s reality? Like the “reality” you said was Trump’s farmer “bailout”… except that it was passed by Biden’s Congress before Trump was even in office? I noticed that shut you the eff up! Pardon me if your opinion means s#!t in my book!

Firebombing is bad!! No matter who does it. Although not quite as bad as attacking humans, especially law enforcement.

Basser, Packman, Brokentooth, PackMack, tomorrow is April Fools day, the next day Is TARIFF day. Hang in there guys. You the man or which ever pronoun you are comfortable with.
It is Liberation Day!! Not tariff day.

We are being liberated from lower prices and a rising stock market. Rejoice!!

TDS doing what they do best. Hilariously shining light on this collection of unqualified flunkies. Enjoy!

But just last month Mack and Trumper were telling us how a Chinese car maker was destroying Teslas market share and Tesla would soon be going bankrupt.

Tesla model Y is the best selling car in China.

Wait a minute, why would a Nazi dictator insist on free speech?

PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP: “ I have stopped all government censorship and brought back free speech in America. It's back.”

But under this Trump administration, some speech can cost you. For example, the government is scrubbing the words diversity, equity and inclusion from websites after Trump declared DEI programs, quote, "immoral and illegal."
Trump is also retaliating against news organizations, like The Associated Press, that have made coverage decisions that he doesn't like, and he's threatening to pull federal funding from colleges that allow what he calls illegal protests.

Tesla’s own data shows sales declined worldwide
Youre cherry picking a single model while BYD has multiple models among the top sellers.
Typical weak attempt to distort data and make false claims.

Sorry democratic terrorist and TEDS victims, Despite your efforts Teslas are being sold as fast as produced.

This anecdotal peak into a few locations is like your climate change denial. It’s January 5 and it’s cold. “Climate change is a hoax”
Ignore the data.

With all the back and forth regarding Tesla, are there those on here who think destroying Tesla properties and products is acceptable?

So, you might want to go back and review before concluding that I am the “pompous ass hole.” You don’t think your comment about Trump “yanking liberals chain” was an invitation to pointing out how it’s your chain that is actually being yanked?

In my initial response, in what way did I act like an ass hole? I laid out what I and a lot of others see as a looming disaster for US farmers created by Trump’s tariffs policy. And I pointed out how good the free trade policies adopted by Republican and Democratic presidents have been for farmers.

Your immediate defensive response was pretty interesting. I suspect because you actually do understand the above and that the rise in farmer wealth is directly correlated with those free trade policies. Does it make you uncomfortable to think about that? Does my pointing out the relative wealth of farmers today and both the trade and other public policies that have made that possible bother you? Unlike some others here, I’ve never criticized those policies. Anything but.

But you boys go ahead and keep cutting off your nose despite your face. The new day is about to dawn, and it is not going to be pretty for eastern NC and its agriculture economy.

You mean physically destroying them? No.

Is that what Mushhead is mad about? No. He is mad about consumers and voters exercising both consumer choice and their First Amendment rights to destroy the value of his company.

And yes, I think for people who know a Nazi salute when they see one, and who understand constitutionally impermissible actions taken by an unelected billionaire that eliminate their jobs and threaten their retirement security, those actions are not just acceptable. They are praiseworthy and in perfect keeping with historical American tradition.

Also, nodflow, let me ask you this question, as I took the time to answer yours:

If I owned a hardware store in rural Sampson County and flew a “ Ef Trump” flag out front, what do you think would happen to my business? You think people might start not going there? Maybe someone throw a rock through the window? Fire some shots late at night at the storefront?

Would you have sympathy for me if I did something that stupid? Would you consider me a good businessman or insane?

Acceptable?? No.

Understandable?? When the CEO is running around saying Social Security is a Ponzi scheme…kinda.

I don’t think the example you present compares to what is happening to Tesla. This is a well planned ,funded , and sustained movement that goes well beyond a foreseeable political reaction.

you cited Hollywood & Orlando. That’s a few locations.
I pointed out that in China they are talking about the Y model only. Tesla is introducing a new Y model so they are heavily discounting the old Y model to reduce inventory.
As previously noted, Tesla itself is saying there is a decline in sales. Basser has pointed out the falling stock as the largest shareholders sell.
Odd that you feel the need to promote Musk’s business when he has reduced his Tesla holdings. The Tesla weakness is structural. Do some homework on BYD.

And Trumper also thinks Elon Musk is a Nazi, so I wouldn't count on him for accurate information.

I just find it hilarious how you and Trumper attack Musk and his company simply because you disagree with his politics.

I post information on Tesla because
I am a shareholder and I enjoy following the stock.
The fact that Tesla doing well irritates you and Trumper is simply a bonus.

Where's my attack on Musk? Doesn't exist. I merely point out the falsehoods and lies you peddle about Tesla when Tesla's own information contradicts you.

I have seen BYD first hand. They are vertically integrated so they have structural advantages over Tesla. Both companies enjoyed substantial government funding.
Did you know that Trump lied about US exporting cars to China? The US exports more cars to China than we import from China. Jeep/Chrysler, Mercedes & BMW all export cars from US factories to China. Meanwhile the US has a 100% tariff on Chinese automobiles. In addition Ford & GM have long established joint ventures manufacturing cars in China for the SE Asia markets.

Do some homework. Educate yourself instead of guzzling the Trump Koolaid. You post so many distortions, falsehoods and lies

Trump promises Liberation Day tomorrow. It should have been today, because once again he's trying to fool the American people.
With Trump, words carry peculiar definitions. By "liberation," he means less freedom for consumers to choose what products they buy.
Trump dislikes fair trade. In his view, fair is unfair. Our country is ripped off or taken advantage of with every purchase of a foreign-made commodity.
Even when the great negotiator himself fashions a great trade deal, as he claimed he did with Canada and Mexico in his first term, it still somehow turns out to be unfair. So those countries deserve to be punished with tariffs.
Except, of course, that importers pay tariffs, not exporters. And the importers pay them by passing the costs to retailers and consumers.
Ultimately, Trump will liberate more money from consumers' pockets.

I sure would like for one of our Trump supporters to tell us the end game here. It doesn’t appear to be a negotiating ploy because he is going through with them. If his goal is to keep tariffs in place forever and wait for US manufacturing to bring prices down, we are in for years of pain. On the surface it looks like one of the least thought out self-inflicted economic wounds in history, unless the goal is to tank the economy. And it is pissing off country after country.

Where’s Stu?? You might end up with a state income tax before this is all over. Snow birds are mad!

I don’t think the example you present compares to what is happening to Tesla. This is a well planned ,funded , and sustained movement that goes well beyond a foreseeable political reaction.

Really? Where is your evidence? You don’t think retirees are legitimately worried about Social Security as Musk’s DOGE cuts employees there? You don’t think they legitimately worry about their retirement income as the markets decline due to tariffs?

Is this now the MAGA response to Free Speech? “Oh, it’s engineered.”

How do I know you are real? Perhaps you are a Russian bot and I should reject you out of hand, not because of your opinion, but because I don’t think you are legit.

Meanwhile, you just ignore my questions while I answer yours. This is why liberals don’t believe conservatives operate in good faith. It’s your SOP.

You say my example doesn’t compare. You don’t think a car company CEO with what is largely a liberal customer base in the US and Europe — who bought those cars in part to address what they believe are the dangers of climate change — are legitimately going to remain as customers when that CEO then embraces a political movement that rejects climate change science. You don’t think they should? And, again, what is the difference between that and a hardware store owner in a conservative area with a conservative customer base who publicly ridicules a conservative president?

Both are stupid business decisions. If you can’t recognize the similarities, you are being willfully ignorant.
