And not just the lumber, and not just taking fuel off the forest floor… but there’s a goldmine in the biochar from these devastated woodlands. The biochar from downed trees would sequester CO2, and offset fertilizer requirements on agricultural lands. It’s a natural resource just laying there. The benefits align with what these people say they’re for, but they’re so blinded by politics they can’t see the forest for the (fallen) trees!
