Here is a list of the top 15 prospects on NC State’s recruiting board in order of our opinion of the likelihood that NC State will land the recruit.

It does not reflect the opinion of NC State’s football staff and is for discussion purposes only.

1. Three-star defensive end Alim McNeill, Raleigh (N.C.) Sanderson High
A new decision date has been set for McNeill: Jan. 6, 2018 during the broadcast of the U.S. Army All-American Bowl. All signs remain very positive for NC State, including that McNeill has been to both of the Pack’s home games.
Last week: 1
Prediction: NC State

2. Four-star linebacker Eriq Gilyard, Jacksonville (Fla.) Trinity International
Rumor has it (we have not confirmed) that Gilyard will officially visit NC State for the Syracuse game on Sept. 30. If that is true, it would be a pretty good indicator of Gilyard’s decision which is suppose to come down Oct. 1 (i.e. the Sunday of his official visit). Central Florida is the other school strongly in the mix with Gilyard.
Last week: 3
Prediction: NC State

3. Three-star offensive tackle Kahric Belle, North Miami Beach (Fla.) High
Belle bumps down a spot mainly because of the rumors of Gilyard taking an official visit. Have not been many updates on Belle (and not likely to be many to come) since he declared NC State his leader in August.
Last week: 2
Prediction: NC State

4. Four-star defensive tackle Jordan Davis, Charlotte (N.C.) Mallard Creek High

Our attempt to get an interview with Davis after the Mallard Creek win over Harding did not materialize, as the reluctant interview cited he had to get back on the team bus and did not want to do another interview after having just done one. Thus we are going by the fact that Davis made it to the Marshall game as a big indicator of where NC State stands, since we believe that has been his lone gameday visit thus far.
Last week: 4
Prediction: NC State

5. Four-star offensive lineman Jovaughn Gwyn, Charlotte (N.C.) Harding High
As noted last week, Gwyn appears to have taken a step back on his recruitment. He did not make the trip to the South Carolina game (Gamecocks lost its home opener to Kentucky) last Saturday as had been reported. (His teammate, junior running back Quavaris Crouch, did.) Interestingly, South Carolina did not have a coach at the Mallard Creek game, which was likely Harding’s biggest game on the schedule, while NC State, Georgia and Florida State all did.
Last week: 5
Prediction: NC State/South Carolina
