NC State has verbal commitments from the following prospects:

Three-star offensive tackle Jonathan Adorno, Rolesville (N.C.) High
Three-star offensive tackle Austin Blaske, Bloomingdale (Ga.) South Effingham High
Three-star defensive back Devan Boykin, Greensboro (N.C.) Ragsdale High
Three-star quarterback Ben Finley, Phoenix (Ariz.) Paradise Valley High
Three-star wide receiver Stephen Gosnell, Hillville (Va.) Carroll County High
Three-star offensive lineman Sean Hill, Brookwood (Ga.) Snellville High
Three-star offensive lineman Ethan Lane, Lawrenceville (Ga.) Archer High
Three-star receiver Nate McCollum, Hampton (Ga.) Dutchtown High
Four-star receiver Porter Rooks, Charlotte Myers Park High
Three-star defensive tackle Jaylen Smith, Ahoskie (N.C.) Hertford County High
Two-star tight end Ezemdi Udoh, Fayetteville (N.C.) Terry Sanford High
Defensive tackle Davin Vann, Cary (N.C.) High
Three-star defensive back Aydan White, Asheville (N.C.) Christ School

Here is a listing of the top 15 prospects in the order that we think they are likely to pick NC State.

1. Three-star safety/nickel Nehki Meredith, Virginia Beach (Va.) Bishop Sullivan

The 5-foot-11, 175-pounder (might be a generous listing height wise from what we are told) now rises to the top of the list after an onslaught of recent commitments. Meredith is expected to visit NC State Friday. We don’t know if a commitment is pending, but the Pack has had strong momentum here since offering in April.

Projection: NC State

2. Three-star linebacker Jayland Parker, Macon (Ga.) Westside High
The 6-foot-2, 200-pounder has already officially visited Purdue and Colorado. He was originally going to visit Pittsburgh this weekend but that trip is off, and all that is left is a visit on June 21 to NC State. The Pack, Purdue and Colorado make up his top three. For a prospect from Georgia, we like NC State’s odds among those three schools. Throw in that Parker has called NC State a dream school of sorts and things look promising.

Projection: NC State

3. Three-star defensive back Joseph Johnson, Richmond (Va.) Life Christian Academy

NC State is clearly not giving up on the 6-foot-3, 180-pound Johnson and has some strong supporters in his inner circle and family. This weekend’s official visit is critical for the Pack’s chances of getting Johnson back in the fold. He officially visits Penn State next weekend and then will make a final decision July 4. We give the edge to the Nittany Lions partially because it has that last trip.
Last week: 13
Projection: Penn State

4. Three-star offensive lineman T.J. Lawson, Fort Washington (Md.) National Christian Academy
Lawson was favoring Louisville, but timing is everything in recruiting and the Pack and UNC getting the last two visits changed the momentum there. Our guess is the Heels are the favorite ahead of his decision Saturday at noon.
Last week: 12
Projection: North Carolina (previously Louisville)

5. Three-star offensive lineman Anthony Carter, Matthews (N.C.) Butler High
Carter (6-foot-4, 295 pounds) came out with a recent top 11 that included NC State, and we have confirmed that for now Carter is one of the few offensive linemen that is still a take. However, where Carter stands overall is a bit of a mystery.
Last week: 10
Projection: Unknown

6. Defensive back Joshua Pierre-Louis, Palm Beach Gardens (Fla.) Benjamin School

We struggle with where to put Pierre-Louis on the list because we think his recruitment depends on a number of factors. There are concerns about his size, especially since NC State is in prime shape to land a similarly sized DB in Meredith. However, if Johnson ends up elsewhere, Pierre-Louis could become an option at corner. If NC State amps up the pursuit it’ll probably be in a good spot for him. He is taking an official visit to Connecticut this weekend after making a camp stop at NC State.

Projection: Unknown

7. Four-star defensive end Desmond Evans, Sanford (N.C.) Lee County High

This is the cutoff line of where the odds for NC State really start getting longer. The actions of Evans (aided by trips to Chapel Hill courtesy the coaches at Lee County) make it pretty clear that UNC is in a very strong position here. We should also note that NC State has been cautious while monitoring Evans’ transcripts and hoping that Evans will be as patient as he has said he would be.
Last week: 14
Projection: UNC

8. Three-star defensive end Sean Martin, Bluefield (W.V.) High

Truth be told, we’re not so sure that Martin (6-foot-5, 225 pounds) is towards the top if not at there on NC State’s board at defensive end. He visited for the spring game and is toying with returning for an official visit, but the feeling is NCSU is not among his top favorites yet.
Last week: 22
Projection: West Virginia

9. Four-star defensive lineman Jacolbe Cowan, Charlotte Providence Day
Cowan made a recent unofficial visit to Georgia, and the Bulldogs appear to be a strong factor now in his recruitment. Ohio State is another national power that is likely in the mix. NC State has been up-and-down in its recruitment with Cowan, but likes how he has transformed his body in a good way this spring.
Last week: 26
Projection: Unknown

10. Four-star defensive lineman Kedrick Bingley-Jones, Charlotte Providence Day

The 6-foot-4, 275-pound Bingley-Jones officially visited Florida last weekend, is going to be at UNC this weekend and also has a trip lined up to Ohio State. Truth be told it might be a stretch to include him on the list.

Projection: Unknown
