So far NC State has verbal commitments from:

Three-star safety Tyler Baker-Williams, Southeast Raleigh High
Three-star receiver Devin Carter, Clayton (N.C.) High
Three-star safety Malik Dunlap, Charlotte (N.C.) Harding University High
Kicker Chris Dunn, Lexington (N.C.) North Davidson High
Three-star offensive lineman Gabriel Gonzalez, Mebane (N.C.) Eastern Alamance High
Three-star cornerback De’Von Graves, Appomattox (Va.) County High
Thee-star offensive tackle Devin Hayes, Orlando (Fla.) Jones High
Four-star quarterback Devin Leary, Sicklerville (N.J.) Timber Creek High
Cornerback Kishawn Miller,Georgia Military College
Three-star athlete Trent Pennix, Raleigh (N.C.) Sanderson High
Four-star athlete Ricky Person, Wake Forest (N.C.) Heritage High
Three-star receiver Jasiah Provillon, Irvington (N.J.) High
Three-star tight end Daevon Robinson, Medford (N.J.) Shawnee High
Three-star corner Teshaun Smith, Ft. Lauderdale (Fla.) Western High
Three-star offensive tackle Jalynn Strickland, Waycross (Ga.) Ware County High

Here is a list of the top 15 prospects on NC State’s recruiting board in order of our opinion of the likelihood that NC State will land the recruit.

It does not reflect the opinion of NC State’s football staff and is for discussion purposes only.

1. Three-star linebacker Braelen Oliver, Douglasville (Ga.) Douglas County High
Oliver made it to Indiana after his NC State. He had said that he wanted to visit all five of his finalists (the others being Iowa State, Minnesota and West Virginia) before making a decision at the end of the summer. Going into the Indiana trip, we felt that NCSU was his leader.
Last week: 7
Prediction: NC State

2. Two-star defensive lineman Derrick Eason, Norfolk (Va.) Norview High
There was some thought that Eason might have committed to NC State while on his visit June 24. That did not happen, but it does appear the Pack is in a good spot with Eason. He is expected to release a top five list this week.
Last week: 16
Prediction: NC State (previously Virginia Tech)

3. Three-star defensive end Alim McNeill, Raleigh (N.C.) Sanderson High
Conventional wisdom is pretty good with McNeill and NC State right now (at least behind the scenes). There is also some thought that McNeill might want to go ahead and make a decision this summer to get it out of the way. From NCSU’s perspective, it might be the sooner, the better.
Last week: 10
Prediction: NC State

4. Four-star linebacker Eriq Gilyard, Jacksonville (Fla.) Trinity International
This may be a big leap of faith placing Gilyard this high, but we picked up a sense that NC State has quietly been building a strong relationship with him prior to his visit on June 24. He then released a top three of NC State, Central Florida and Kentucky, and that’s a recruiting battle where NCSU should stand out.
Last week: 14
Prediction: NC State (previously unknown)

5. Four-star offensive lineman Jovaughn Gwyn, Charlotte (N.C.) Harding High
We’ve long felt pretty good about NC State’s chances with Gwyn, but it does appear that this one is going to be a tight battle between the Gamecocks and NC State. Sources we talked with felt like NCSU was close with Gwyn in June, but the SEC pull to South Carolina is proving strong, too.
Last week: 4
Prediction: NC State/South Carolina (previously just NC State)

6. Four-star defensive tackle Jordan Davis, Charlotte (N.C.) Mallard Creek High
In a recruitment where next to no information has been given out, it was telling (and revealing) that thus far the only summer visit Davis has made has been to NC State. We were actually tempted to make the Davis projection solely to NC State and have him at No. 5 on this list, but we will wait for more information (if it comes).
Last week: 13
Prediction: NC State/UNC

7. Three-star defensive end Joseph Boletepeli, Raleigh (N.C.) Heritage High
We have always noted that it seemed like Boletepeli was drawn somewhat to Wake Forest, and we have picked up a sense that UNC has made strong inroads despite its later offer. NC State is still heavily in the mix and has proximity and longevity in its recruiting working in its favor. We could see him at any of the three schools to be honest.
Last week: 8
Prediction: NC State/Wake Forest/UNC (previously just NC State)

8. Three-star linebacker Keshon Artis, Chesapeake (Va.) Oscar Smith High

NC State made Artis’ top eight, and he had a good visit by all accounts in May to NC State. He does not seem to have made many other trips either. Worth noting on Artis, there is only two linebacker spots believed to be open in this class, and the crunch could be on if Oliver does commit over the summer.
Last week: 24
Prediction: Maryland

9. Three-star linebacker Calvin Hart, Ft. Lauderdale (Fla.) American Heritage
It’s difficult to decipher where to place Hart on this list after he visited in June. The Pack would seem to be strongly in the mix based on his offer list that also includes Iowa, Iowa State, Mississippi State, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, Syracuse, Texas A&M and Wisconsin, and we have not seen
Last week: 27
Prediction: Unknown

10. Three-star defensive tackle Elijiah Brown, Charlotte (N.C.) Providence Day
Brown did not take a visit this summer to NC State (yet) and the Pack may be waiting to see what other defensive tackles are doing before heavily pushing on him, hence explaining the drop.
Last week: 5
Prediction: Wake Forest (previously NC State)

11. Three-star defensive tackle Da’Vontae McCrae, Miami (Fla.) Northwestern High
McCrae has visited NCSU and had the Pack in his top six, but we are picking up a sense that Wake Forest has made him a higher priority. This situation could be similar to Brown’s.
Last week: 32
Prediction: Wake Forest

12. Three-star defensive end Lancine Turay, Irvington (N.J.) High
Did Turay do enough at camp to warrant a full push? He certainly looks the part and tested pretty well athletically, but will also need to get bigger and continue working to translate all of his potential onto the field. That said, we would not be stunned if NC State does turn up the heat on Turay. If it does, we would also be less-than-shocked if NCSU turns up high on his list.
Last week: 20
Prediction: Rutgers

13. Three-star defensive end Jarrett Jackson, Palm Beach Gardens (Fla.) High
Jackson was a revelation at one of the satellite camps NC State attended in June, and he said this week that his current list of favorites included NC State, Louisville, North Carolina, Kentucky, Virginia Tech, Pittsburgh and Mississippi State. He also said in that article with the Palm Beach Post that he wanted to visit NC State (and UNC and Kentucky). He has already seen Louisivlle.
Last week: Unrated
Prediction: Unknown

14. Four-star defensive tackle Rick Sandidge, Concord (N.C.) High
NCSU will recruit him hard (and from we gathered it has not gone unnoticed by Sandidge and his family), but it’s going to be an uphill battle.
Last week: 36
Prediction: South Carolina

15. Three-star linebacker Fa’Najae Gotay, North Fort Myers (Fla.) High
Gotay is another prospect where there is not a lot known at the moment, but NC State has recruited his high school well this cycle. (Was also among the leaders for Joe Wilkins before filling up at his potential positions).
Last week: 39
Prediction: Unknown
