NC State has verbal commitments from the following prospects:

Three-star offensive tackle Austin Blaske, Bloomingdale (Ga.) South Effingham High
Three-star defensive back Devan Boykin, Greensboro (N.C.) Ragsdale High
Three-star quarterback Ben Finley, Phoenix (Ariz.) Paradise Valley High
Three-star offensive lineman Ethan Lane, Lawrenceville (Ga.) Archer High
Three-star receiver Nate McCollum, Hampton (Ga.) Dutchtown High
Four-star receiver Porter Rooks, Charlotte Myers Park High
Three-star defensive tackle Jaylen Smith, Ahoskie (N.C.) Hertford County High
Three-star defensive back Aydan White, Asheville (N.C.) Christ School

Here is a listing of the top 30 prospects in the order that we think they are likely to pick NC State.

1. Wide receiver Stephen Gosnell, Pilot Mountain (N.C.) East Surry High
This is probably a NC State-Wake Forest battle right now. NC State is 2-0 against the Deacs for in-state players this year, landing defensive tackle Jaylen Smith and corner Aydan White. We think odds are good it will be 3-0. Gosnell (6-foot-2, 190 pounds) has the makings of probably being a summer decision.

Projection: NC State

2. Three-star defensive tackle Henry Bryant, Delray Beach (Fla.) Atlantic High

We’ve long been bullish on NC State’s chances of getting Bryant and also Bryant’s talents despite being undersized (5-foot-11, 270 pounds). One of the question was would other colleges jump into the fray during the evaluation period. Thus far that has not happened. A well-placed source told us that Bryant will make his decision official by the end of the summer (with a plan to do it just before the start of his senior season). As of now, the source implied to us that NC State is in excellent position. He is expected though to take some visits in June, including an official trip to Pittsburgh June 14. Duke, Kentucky, Louisville, Wake Forest and West Virginia are also in the mix.

Projection: NC State

3. Three-star linebacker Jayland Parker, Macon (Ga.) Westside High
The 6-foot-2, 200-pounder has scheduled official visits for Purdue, Colorado, Pittsburgh and NC State (in that order) and should make a decision July 1. Ever since we talked with him we felt like NC State was in a very good position with the only question being would Mohamed Kaba from Clinton (N.C.) High take the linebacker spot before Parker. Parker told us that NC State was a dream school of sorts for him, and his social media habits seem to be backing that up.

Projection: NC State

4. Three-star offensive tackle Jonathan Adorno, Rolesville (N.C.) High
The 6-foot-4, 290-pounder has an offer list that includes Duke, NC State, North Carolina, Vanderbilt, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest. We maintain that the two schools most under consideration are UNC and NC State. One factor that could sway it towards NCSU is that Adorno has been pretty consistent about wanting an engineering degree in college. He slipped a couple of spots but that was more about increased confidence in Bryant and Parker.

Projection: NC State

5. Three-star offensive lineman Sean Hill, Brookwood (Ga.) Snellville High

The 6-foot-3, 300-pound Hill has now made two unofficial visits to NC State in less than two months. He has added eight Power Five offers since May, but the Pack still looks like it is in good shape.

Projection: NC State

6. Two-star offensive lineman Alex Atcavage, Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy
The 6-foot-5, 285-pounder left a distinct impression with us that NC State was in excellent shape when we interviewed him earlier in May. As he told us then, he will officially visit in June. South Florida, this week, joined Indiana, Illinois, Kansas, Louisville, Minnesota, Rutgers and UCF on his offer list. Minnesota might be the top competition at the moment.

Projection: NC State

7. Three-star safety Nehki Meredith, Virginia Beach (Va.) Bishop Sullivan

Last wee we gave the 5-foot-11, 175-pounder (might be a generous listing height wise from what we are told) rose high on our list after we talked to him a few weeks ago. TCU and Virginia Tech are probably the top competition here, more so the Horned Frogs. The Pack has been the flavor of the month for Meredith. Will that hold in June?

Projection: NC State

8. Four-star receiver Muhsin Muhammad, Charlotte Myers Park High
Nothing really new on the 6-foot, 170-pounder. We like the Pack’s chances based on his positive reviews of his experiences around Raleigh and his close friendship with Pack commit Porter Rooks. That said, we can easily see him at Texas A&M and perhaps UNC.

Projection: NC State

9. Two-star offensive lineman T.J. Lawson, Fort Washington (Md.) National Christian Academy
The 6-foot-5, 280-pound Lawson came out with a top six this week that included NC State, Kentucky, Louisville, Virginia, West Virginia and Massachusetts (yes the obvious outlier), but quickly backed off that. He made an official visit to Louisville and the Cardinals are a big threat here. Despite his two-star rating from Rivals, Lawson is high priority at offensive tackle. He visited NCSU once before and is expected back in June.
Last week: 9
Projection: NC State

10. Three-star tight end Matt Hibner, Burke (Va.) Lake Braddock High

This ranking became suddenly complicated when Hibner was offered by Michigan this morning. Until then it was shaping up nicely as a NC State-Virginia Tech race with Vanderbilt and Georgia Tech also in the mix. Hibner made a visit to Raleigh this past week and indications are it went well. He is a strong student who will take academics heavily into consideration.
