So far NC State has verbal commitments from:

Three-star receiver Devin Carter, Clayton (N.C.) High
Three-star safety Malik Dunlap, Charlotte (N.C.) Harding University High
Kicker Chris Dunn, Lexington (N.C.) North Davidson High
Three-star cornerback De’Von Graves, Appomattox (Va.) County High
Offensive tackle Devin Hayes, Orlando (Fla.) Jones High
Four-star quarterback Devin Leary, Sicklerville (N.J.) Timber Creek High
Three-star athlete Daevon Robinson, Medford (N.J.) Shawnee High Three-star athlete Trent Pennix, Raleigh (N.C.) Sanderson High
Four-star athlete Ricky Person, Wake Forest (N.C.) Heritage High

Here is a list of the top 40 prospects on NC State’s recruiting board in order of our opinion of the likelihood that NC State will land the recruit.

It does not reflect the opinion of NC State’s football staff and is for discussion purposes only.

1. Three-star receiver Jasiah Provillon, Irvington (N.J.) High

Provillon is expected to visit NC State this weekend, and the Pack could be on the verge of landing a commitment from him (we think he will). Boston College, Louisville and Michigan State are believed to be his other favorites.

Prediction: NC State

2. Three-star safety Tyler Williams, Southeast Raleigh High
Williams was back for a visit after picking up an offer last week following a strong camp performance. NC State is his lone major offer and it would seem to be a strong likelihood that he will commit to NC State. His other offers include Colorado State, East Carolina and Old Dominion.

Prediction: NC State

3. Offensive lineman Gabriel Gonzalez, Mebane (N.C.) Eastern Alamance High

It does not appear that UNC offered Gonzalez after its Freak Show, perhaps choosing to wait on some other prospects. Gonzalez will be at NC State this weekend, and the Pack has him high on its board. Virginia Tech might be the stiffest competition.
Last week: 2
Prediction: NC State

4. Four-star offensive lineman Jovaughn Gwyn, Charlotte (N.C.) Harding High
The consensus has emerged that this is a NC State-South Carolina battle, with Duke a wildcard. South Carolina got his first unofficial visit in June, and NC State got the last. A decision could come next week.
Last week: 3
Prediction: NC State

5. Three-star defensive tackle Elijiah Brown, Charlotte (N.C.) Providence Day

We have to admit that we are curious about the lack of buzz surrounding Brown’s recruitment that leaves us wondering if we might have him too high on this list.
Last week: 4
Prediction: NC State

6. Cornerback Derek Gainous, Miami (Fla.) Senior

We had heard that there was a chance that Gainous could visit NC State this weekend, but we do not know if that is going to happen or not. The corners board is deep but could also fill fast.
Last week: 6
Prediction: NC State

7. Three-star linebacker Braelen Oliver, Douglasville (Ga.) Douglas County High

After talking with Oliver, we think NC State has a solid lead over Indiana, West Virginia, Minnesota and Iowa State. With several linebackers visiting soon, Oliver may be pushed to make a decision sooner rather than later.
Last week: 12
Prediction: NC State (previously unknown)

8. Three-star defensive end Joseph Boletepeli, Raleigh (N.C.) Heritage High

Boletepeli didn’t make it to the Freak Show over the weekend but did take a visit on Monday. However, he was also back at Wake Forest last week, and we have always had a hunch that WFU was a bigger threat among the in-state schools. We’ll be curious to see if Boletepeli makes it up this weekend for a visit.
Last week: 8
Prediction: NC State

9. Three-star safety Cameron Jonas, Palm Beach Gardens (Fla.) Dwyer High
As noted last week, two different sources indicated to us that they thought NC State led for Jonas, one suggesting that Kentucky was the top competition. However, could the safety position fill up before Jonas makes a decision?
Last week: 9
Prediction: NC State

10. Three-star defensive end Alim McNeill, Raleigh (N.C.) Sanderson High
McNeill visited NC State on Friday and then took the rest of the weekend off it appeared, choosing not to visit for the Freak Show. Supposedly UNC feels very good about its chances, but to us the actions seem to justify our current prediction.
Last week: 10
Prediction: NC State

11. Three-star cornerback Ginial Isma, Ft. Lauderdale (Fla.) Stranahan

NC State has reportedly offered Isma, and he told Rivals.com he wants to visit and that the Pack is his favorite. The Pack is his lone major offer, and if he is offer is confirmed he would probably shoot towards the top of the list. That said, with all the corners visiting, it makes us wonder if Isma might have a spot in the class.
Last week: 11
Prediction: NC State

12. Three-star offensive tackle Kahric Belle, North Miami Beach (Fla.) High
One caveat to Belle’s listing: NC State is only looking to take 3-4 offensive linemen in this class. Would Belle have a spot if Gonzalez and Gwyn take up two places in the near future?
Last week: 13
Prediction: NC State

13. Four-star defensive tackle Jordan Davis, Charlotte (N.C.) Mallard Creek High

Davis has made it clear recruiting is on hold for him until football season is over, but prior to basically shutting it down for a while, it seemed to be headed to a UNC-NC State battle (like McNeill)
Last week: 15
Prediction: NC State/UNC

14. Four-star linebacker Eriq Gilyard, Jacksonville (Fla.) Trinity International
Gilyard has said NC State is among the schools recruiting him the hardest, and he is supposed to visit this weekend. With that combination, Gilyard takes a jump in the rankings (we were tempted to make him a NC State projection).
Last week: 29
Prediction: Unknown

15. Four-star offensive tackle Devonte Gordon, Washington (D.C.) Maret School
We do not know a whole lot about Gordon, but he is visiting this weekend and NC State and Virginia seem to be his best offers.
Last week: Unrated
Prediction: Unknown
