NC State has verbal commitments from the following prospects:

Three-star offensive tackle Jonathan Adorno, Rolesville (N.C.) High
Three-star offensive tackle Austin Blaske, Bloomingdale (Ga.) South Effingham High
Three-star defensive back Devan Boykin, Greensboro (N.C.) Ragsdale High
Three-star quarterback Ben Finley, Phoenix (Ariz.) Paradise Valley High
Three-star wide receiver Stephen Gosnell, Hillville (Va.) Carroll County High
Three-star offensive lineman Sean Hill, Brookwood (Ga.) Snellville High
Three-star offensive lineman Ethan Lane, Lawrenceville (Ga.) Archer High
Three-star offensive lineman Patrick Matan, Washington (D.C.) Gonzaga Prep
Three-star receiver Nate McCollum, Hampton (Ga.) Dutchtown High
Three-star safety/nickel Nehki Meredith, Virginia Beach (Va.) Bishop Sullivan
Four-star receiver Porter Rooks, Charlotte Myers Park High
Three-star defensive tackle Jaylen Smith, Ahoskie (N.C.) Hertford County High
Two-star tight end Ezemdi Udoh, Fayetteville (N.C.) Terry Sanford High
Two-star defensive tackle Davin Vann, Cary (N.C.) High
Three-star defensive back Aydan White, Asheville (N.C.) Christ School

Here is a listing of the top five prospects in the order that we think they are likely to pick NC State.

1. Three-star defensive back Joshua Pierre-Louis, Palm Beach Gardens (Fla.) Benjamin School

We just feel like it’s going to work out for Pierre-Louis and NC State. We know this: the Pack loved Pierre-Louis on film, it loved that he came to Raleigh and competed in camp (including the testing) and it loved how he dominated one-on-ones. The only hesitation as we noted before is that Pierre-Louis is 5-foot-8.5, but he at least runs and moves like someone that size needs to be successful. He has made an official visit to Connecticut and also has offers from Illinois, Minnesota and Rutgers.
Last week: 3
Projection: NC State (previously unknown)

2. Three-star defensive back Joseph Johnson, Richmond (Va.) Life Christian Academy

The 6-foot-3, 180-pounder is announcing July 2 between Texas A&M, Ohio State, Penn State and NC State. We could see it being any of the them not including Ohio State (which of course means he will probably pick Ohio State). His family loves NC State, and we think Johnson himself likes it too. A&M may be a sneaky choice here.
Last week: 3
Projection: Unknown (previously Penn State)

3. Three-star offensive lineman Anthony Carter, Matthews (N.C.) Butler High

Carter (6-foot-4, 295 pounds) had NC State on his top 11. That said, sources have been going back-and-forth over whether or not Carter is a firm take at this point. Some days it sounds like the Pack would probably continue to pursue, others we are not as sure. We do know this, NC State loves where it ended up on offensive line recruiting and is not going to force taking a sixth. At the end of the day however we think it would find room for someone of Carter’s upside.
Last week: 5
Projection: Unknown

4. Three-star defensive back Tyler Jones, Winter Garden (Fla.) West Orange
NC State recently joined Duke, Maryland, Missouri, Purdue, Rutgers, Vanderbilt and most recently Louisville (surprise) as Jones’ Power Five offers. That’s obviously a list NC State can contend with, but it is also just joining the fray. He officially visited Missouri in mid-June. Might Jones emerge as a top defensive back on the board if Johnson picks Penn State or Texas A&M?
Last week: 11
Projection: Unknown

(tie) 5. Three-star linebacker Jayland Parker, Macon (Ga.) Westside High
The 6-foot-2, 215-pounder chose to not visit NC State yet follow through with his July 1 decision. That means the rumors that he is headed to Colorado are probably very true.
Last week: 1
Projection: Colorado (previously NC State)

(tie) 5. Four-star defensive lineman Jacolbe Cowan, Charlotte Providence Day
We threw him back on the list and will have a story later this week on how Cowan has not closed the door on NC State, but realistically we believe the Pack is a long shot with the recently slimmed down 6-foot-5, 252-pounder.
Last week: Not rated
Projection: Georgia
