It turns out that my hunch that Chris Collins of Northwestern could warrant a discussion is true.
NC State AD Boo Corrigan and Collins are long-time friends from the Duke days. Collins and Steve Wojciechowski knew Corrigan well from back in the day.
I think Collins is an upper echelon college coach and probably has a near lifetime contract for doing the impossible in taking NU to three NCAA trips and three NCAA wins (I believe). The key with the 50-year-old Collins, and Indiana could be asking the same thing, does he want more in his coaching life? He also is a life-long Upper North Shore Chicago suburbs guy.
