NC State Football revenue = $60MM Football expense= $34MM (57% of football revenue/ 28% of total ath revenue is spent on football). That puts in the middle of public schools in the conference for % of total athletics revenue spent on football, however only VPI and GT have a lower % of football revenue that is spent on football.
for comparison:

FSU- $91.5MM/ $76.1MM (84% of football revenue/ 44.7% of total ath revenue is spent on football)

CU- $79MM/ $67MM (85% of football revenue/ 34% of total ath revenue)

UNC- $67MM/ $44MM (66% of football revenue/ 31.4% of total ath revenue)

VPI- $69MM/ $34MM (49% of football revenue/ 26.2% of total ath revenue)

GT- $66MM/ $35MM (53% of football revenue/ 26.1% of total ath revenue)

UL- $57MM/ $33MM (58% of football revenue / 23.1% of total ath revenue)

UVA- $51MM/ $31MM (61% of football revenue/ 22.0% of total ath revenue)

Cal- $37.2MM/ $38MM (102% of football revenue/ 30.1% of total ath revenue)

Athletic programs that operate in red figures:

Cal total athletic income is $126MM but they spend 134.7MM on athletics

FSU income is $169.6MM expenses $172.1MM

Other figures that I found interesting:

UVA spends about 30% more per year on basketball, than UNC
UNC and NC State both spend about $11MM/ year on basketball
UNC’s basketball revenue is about $11MM more than NC State’s Last year’s F4 run should reduce that gap
Clemson is still the monster fund raiser with almost $85MM in donations
