I say this knowing that the 12-team playoffs will go to a 16-team playoffs sooner than later but…
I can’t get fired up about the impending faux outrage that will happen about who is left out. It could be Big School U from the SEC or Clemson/SMU loser from the ACC, not sure, but in my head no No. 13 squad will ever win a national title. This isn’t basketball. Big difference in football in tiers.
And I really can’t get fired up when the debating starts with who is No. 17. I understand it, we see it each year on team No. 69 in hoops, and it sucks for the fans of that particular football program.
But…
NC State will need to make sure to not be No. 17 in the future, which I am guessing means a 9-3 record would be on bubble.
