NC State has verbal commitments from:

Guard/center Harrison Gee, Burlington (N.C.) Williams High
Safety Tim Glass, Danville (Va.) Lynchburg Liberty Christian Academy
Quarterback Dylan Parham, Southeast Raleigh High
Guard/center Joe Sculthorpe, Hampstead (N.C.) Topsail High
Defensive tackle Kobe Smith, Lawrenceville (Ga.) Archer High
Cornerback James Valdez, Orangeburg (S.C.) Wilkinson High
Offensive lineman Justin Witt, New Lenox (Ill.) Lincoln-Way West High

Here is a list of the top 30 prospects on NC State’s recruiting board in order of our opinion of the likelihood that NC State will land the recruit.

It does not reflect the opinion of NC State’s football staff and is for discussion purposes only.

1. Tight end/receiver Bryce Dixon, Cary (N.C.) Green Hope High
Dixon picking up an offer from NC State at camp this week puts the Pack in a commanding position here. He plans to do some more camps, but we would not be surprised is if by the end the month he picks the Wolfpack.
Previous ranking: Unranked
Prediction: NC State

2. Tight end Dylan Autenrieth, Dallas (Ga.) North Paulding High
As we noted when he visited, our sources were not expecting a commitment from Autenrieth when he visited last week. NCSU though we believe is still in a strong position here. Georgia’s sniffing around here could loom as a challenge.
Previous ranking: 1
Prediction: NC State

3. Lineman Bryce Folsom, Alpharetta (Ga.) Chattahoochee High
We have not talked with Folsom but from what we were told this is setting up as a Syracuse and NC State battle. We are going on a limb and placing him high on the top 25.
Previous ranking: 4
Prediction: NC State

4. Wide receiver Myles Dorn, Charlotte Vance High
As we have maintained for a couple of weeks, we were told that Dorn’s top three was Tennessee, NC State and a surprise team (our guess is Wake Forest). However, multiple sources believe Dorn is really looking at UT and NCSU. The Vols may have had a lead before, but his brother’s commitment to the Pack could change things. Having said that, one source believes that Dorn is also interested in blazing his own path.
Previous ranking: 7
Prediction: NC State

5. Cornerback Mark Gilbert, Fayetteville (N.C.) Terry Sanford High
Gilbert made an overnight unofficial visit to NC State, and we are told that the Pack feels like they are in a good spot with Gilbert, who is likely to decide before the summer is over. Our guess is that Duke might be the top challenger with Penn State, Michigan and perhaps Pitt also in the mix.
Previous ranking: 10
Prediction: NC State

6. Tight end Garrett Walston, Wilmington (N.C.) New Hanover High
Multiple source have indicated to us this week that Walston is down to Georgia and NC State, and that UNC is believed to be a long shot. Walston though has gone a bit underground on his recruitment. If the Pack picks up a pledge in short order from Dixon, it could put the squeeze on Walston.
Previous ranking: 6
Prediction: NC State

7. Defensive back Carlos Becker, Kissimmee (Fla.) Osceola High
Becker is another prospect that we are told that the Pack feels like they are in a good spot. The key here may be surviving an extended unofficial visit to Notre Dame coming up in a week.
Previous ranking: 12
Prediction: NC State

8. Defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence, Wake Forest (N.C.) High
What we will be watching is if and when Lawrence takes some visits this summer. He says he has a lot lined up, but the key is whether or not it does. We still think NCSU leads. Clemson and Florida are two challengers.
Previous ranking: 9
Prediction: NC State

9. Linebacker Donta Evans, Lawrenceville (Ga.) Archer High
Evans told us that NC State and Auburn are definitely in his top five. He seemed to have a great rapport with the Pack coaches at the camp, but he also perked up when talking about his recent visit to Auburn. A decision is likely to come sooner rather than later.
Previous ranking: 15
Prediction: NC State

10. Wide receiver Chavis Dawkins, Duncan (S.C.) Byrnes High
The fact that Dawkins never committed despite NCSU being his first offer and sitting on tenders from State and Wake Forest for a long time raises an alarm for us. He picked up a recent offer from Louisville and spoke glowingly about DeVante Parker, former Cards wide out.
Previous ranking: 5
Prediction: NC State

11. Offensive lineman Ashton Julious, Scranton (Pa.) Lackawanna Junior College
It looks like a top three could be formulating of NC State, Baylor and Oklahoma. We have projected Julious to the Pack, but the truth is this is a low-confidence projection. We are going with NCSU because of the proximity factor to his Florence, S.C., hometown.
Previous ranking: 8
Prediction: NC State

12. Safety Isaiah Stallings, Fayetteville (N.C.) Terry Sanford High
We get the sense from talking with sources that South Carolina could be emerging as a serious player with Stallings, but the Pack is heavily in the mix as well, especially if they can pull in Gilbert.
Previous ranking: 11
Prediction: NC State

13. Defensive end Jimmie Taylor, Jacksonville (N.C.) SW Onslow High
We have Taylor still on the list, but as one source noted to us this past weekend, time is running out on Taylor to make a decision soon. The Pack may move on to other targets.
Previous ranking: 14
Prediction: NC State

14. Wide receiver Divine Deablo, Winston-Salem (N.C.) Mt. Tabor High
It appears that a quiet top three could be emerging of NC State, Virginia Tech and UNC. Deablo was back at UNC this past Sunday for an unofficial visit. He favored the Heels early in the process before NCSU surged.
Previous ranking: 13
Prediction: NC State/UNC (previously just NC State)

15. Wide receiver Eric Kumah, Woodbridge (Va.) Forest Park High
A source this week confirmed what we suspected, that the belief is that Kumah’s top two are Virginia Tech and NC State, and that the Pack does have a strong chance here.
Previous ranking: 21
Prediction: Virginia Tech
