NC State has verbal commitments from:

Guard/center Harrison Gee, Burlington (N.C.) Williams High
Safety Tim Glass, Danville (Va.) Lynchburg Liberty Christian Academy
Quarterback Dylan Parham, Southeast Raleigh High
Guard/center Joe Sculthorpe, Hampstead (N.C.) Topsail High
Defensive tackle Kobe Smith, Lawrenceville (Ga.) Archer High
Cornerback James Valdez, Orangeburg (S.C.) Wilkinson High
Offensive lineman Justin Witt, New Lenox (Ill.) Lincoln-Way West High

Here is a list of the top 35 prospects on NC State’s recruiting board in order of our opinion of the likelihood that NC State will land the recruit.

It does not reflect the opinion of NC State’s football staff and is for discussion purposes only.

1. Tight end Dylan Autenrieth, Dallas (Ga.) North Paulding High
Autenreith will making an unofficial visit to NC State in the near future. Could that get the ball rolling in a potential commitment?
Previous ranking: 1
Prediction: NC State

2. Offensive tackle Justin Chase, Chesapeake (Va.) Great Bridge High
Like Autenreith, Chase is expected to make an unofficial visit to NCSU in the near future. Chase though may be more likely to be patient as he has several high majors tracking his progress.
Previous ranking: 3
Prediction: NC State

3. Athlete Tyree Rodgers, Camden (N.J.) Catholic High
Rodgers and his New Jersey traveling 7-on-7 team may be making a return trip to Raleigh for one of the 7-on-7’s at NCSU’s upcoming camp slate. The Pack is Rodgers’ lone major offer.
Previous ranking: 2
Prediction: NC State

4. Lineman Bryce Folsom, Alpharetta (Ga.) Chattahoochee High
Folsom picked up recent offers from NC State and Syracuse. We were going to rank Folsom No. 2 prior to his picking up that SU offer. He is listed in the Rivals.com database as a defensive end but we believe he may be looked at more as an offensive line prospect.
Previous ranking: Unrated
Prediction: NC State

5. Wide receiver Chavis Dawkins, Duncan (S.C.) Byrnes High
Nothing new on Dawkins, whose two major offers are NC State and Wake Forest. We know that the Pack made stops to Byrnes during the spring evaluation period, and from all accounts their interest remains serious. However, we do wonder if some other receivers are on the verge of beating Dawkins to the punch.
Previous ranking: 4
Prediction: NC State

6. Tight end Garrett Walston, Wilmington (N.C.) New Hanover High
There was some chatter that Walston may have been visiting NCSU this week or weekend, but our source indicated any trip would be next week. We’ve also heard that Walston has gone underground on his recruitment so do not expect much public pronouncements in the near future.
Previous ranking: 5
Prediction: NC State

7. Wide receiver Myles Dorn, Charlotte Vance High
Dorn visited NC State last weekend with his older brother Torin, who is considering transferring to either Miami or NC State for hoops. Our sources have indicated that the footballer Dorn has a top three that includes NC State, Tennessee and one surprise team. However, sentiments are strong that if Torin picks NCSU expect Myles there, too.
Previous ranking: 9
Prediction: NC State

8. Offensive lineman Ashton Julious, Scranton (Pa.) Lackawanna Junior College
Julious is at NCSU today. The Pack has a stiff recruitment challenge here, especially with Baylor. The Bears have a potential teammate on Lackawanna’s roster. NCSU is hoping proximity to Florence, S.C., will play in its favor. Oklahoma is a wildcard.
Previous ranking: 13
Prediction: NC State

9. Defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence, Wake Forest (N.C.) High
We have heard from several that a key with Lawrence could be how much he decides to hit the road this summer. NCSU would not mind if Lawrence chooses a quiet summer, but that may not be realistic.
Previous ranking: 6
Prediction: NC State

10. Cornerback Mark Gilbert, Fayetteville (N.C.) Terry Sanford High
As we noted last time, we’ll see what Gilbert’s summer plans entail. We do like however that NCSU is in the thick of it with so many people around Gilbert.
Previous ranking: 10
Prediction: NC State

11. Safety Isaiah Stallings, Fayetteville (N.C.) Terry Sanford High
Some information we received this week gave us a better feeling about NCSU’s chances with Stallings. Getting Stallings would also help with Gilbert (No. 10).
Previous ranking: 11
Prediction: NC State

12. Defensive back Carlos Becker, Kissimmee (Fla.) Osceola High
We noted last week that an offer and extended visit to Notre Dame could loom large. If NC State can survive that trip, they could be in good shape for the rest of the summer.
Previous ranking: 8
Prediction: NC State

13. Wide receiver Divine Deablo, Winston-Salem (N.C.) Mt. Tabor High
We are told that a lot of people’s eyebrows were raised when Deablo mentioned that NCSU was standing out to him in a recent Rivals.com video interview. His low-key approach to the recruiting spotlight may be helping the Pack.
Previous ranking: 7
Prediction: NC State

14. Defensive end Jimmie Taylor, Jacksonville (N.C.) SW Onslow High
We will see what Taylor does this summer. We believe a visit to Michigan is looming for Taylor, and if the Wolverines have serious interest that could loom as a significant obstacle for the Pack. Tennessee is also a player but we are not sure yet how serious the mutual interest is at this point.
Previous ranking: 12
Prediction: NC State

15. Linebacker Donta Evans, Lawrenceville (Ga.) Archer High
Auburn rolled out the red carpet for Evans this past weekend. We now believe that they along with Kentucky could be the Pack’s top challenger for Evans.
Previous ranking: 15
Prediction: NC State

16. Linebacker Rob Snyder, Suwanee (Ga.) Collins Hill High
Snyder is a recent reported offer. We have not talked to him or dug around deep enough to get a feel for where things stand though. We believe Snyder also has an offer from Iowa.
Previous ranking: Unrated
Prediction: Unknown

17. Wide receiver Devontres Dukes, Tampa (Fla.) Wharton High
We think Dukes will be high on NCSU, but we changed our projection based on the fact that we believe the Pack is taking two wide outs in this class and others on the Pack’s board are in line to make decisions quicker than Dukes.
Previous ranking: 14
Prediction: Central Florida (previously NC State)

18. Offensive tackle Kurt Gavin, Frankfort (Ill.) Lincoln Way East
The expectation is that Gavin will visit NC State this month, which could allow him to shoot up this list. Gavin’s offer list would suggest that the Pack would be more than a major player here.
Previous ranking: 30
Prediction: Unknown

19. Linebacker Chase Pine, Williamsburg (Va.) Lafayette High
A lot with Pine will depend on how serious Georgia is with him and whether or not he gets a Notre Dame offer. If those are not two viable options, we suspect Pine will come down between NC State, Pittsburgh and UNC.
Previous ranking: 17
Prediction: Georgia

20. Defensive end Patrick Jones, Chesapeake (Va.) Grassfield High
Duke and NC State seem to be the two schools recruiting Jones the hardest. Our vibe has always been that Duke probably has the edge.
Previous ranking: 23
Prediction: Duke
