Recruiting UNC wins battle for kicker...

Recruiting kickers is usually low-key, but High Point Christian junior kicker David Green had some spice to his recruitment. His family are long-time season ticket holders for NC State. He then transitioned to being a Wolfpack recruit and going to games that way.

Virginia Tech then offered him April 8, and then North Carolina offered him Thursday. NC State didn't offer him, so he picked the Tar Heels today.

He went to NC State on March 8, and also went to see the old Pack coachers at Marshall, plus Ole Miss, Duke, Georgia and UNC.

Men's Basketball OT: High Point's job has opened up...

Creighton coach Greg McDermott might not know when he'll retire, but High Point coach Alan Huss has been named the coach in waiting and will be an assistant coach there. Huss played at Creighton and previously was an assistant coach under McDermott. Big loss for High Point, but they'll try to keep things going. They already had a few of their key guys enter the transfer portal. McDermott is currently 60 years old. Since 1999, Creighton has gone to the NCAA Tournament 18 times, and has won at least 20 games in all but two years.

Recruiting NC State linked to Oregon small forward...

Reaching out and wanting a player are two different things, but if it gets serious at some point, Jadrian Tracey played at both St. Joseph's and Oregon, and averaged 6.9 points and 2.8 rebounds per game this season. Assistant coach Adam Howard would have seen him live in the Big Ten.

Recruiting NC State reached out to PF...

Florida Atlantic junior power forward Tre Carroll is a fascinating prospect in a good way. He did very little his first three years at FAU and former coach Dusty May must not have wanted to bring him to Michigan. Then he breaks out this season, but what makes him fascinating, that he didn't play heavy minutes, 22.1 minutes per game. I think he played 13 games of 19 minutes or less, which is just unusual, though he did collect a lot of fouls (104).

He'd be a solid role-playing power forward at 6-7 and 233 pounds.
