This was a late night filing last night by the Justice Department.

This is a case that started with the Texas Governor and has made it's way through the court system to the Supreme Court.

The argument by Texas was when the Republicans took the individual mandate out of Obamacare a few years ago then the entire law should be null and void.

The Trump administration could have chosen to not join the lawsuit, but have chosen to do so, which means the Federal government will be arguing along with Texas to get rid of Obamacare.

If the Trump administration wins, then all of Obamacare gets shot down, including the provision for insurers to cover pre-existing conditions and keeping your kids on your insurance until 26,, and prescription pill discounts.

A lot of people do not realize you get those benefits even if you do not have Obamacare coverage.

Just curious about what people's thoughts are on this.

This looks to me like Trump just handed the election to the Democrat's.

He has given them something they can talk about everyday until election day that is going to resonate with a lot of people, their healthcare..

I suspect the political strategy is to meet a campaign promise to get rid of Obamacare, and once again tear down an Obama accomplishment.

But based on the timing, and the fact Republicans have nothing to replace it with, for the Republicans on the board how this is a winning strategy during not only an election year but with a pandemic that could still be with us after the court ruling?
