McNeese State plays three gaurds, a small forward and a post player this season.

Syracuse transfer Quadir Copeland was the catalyst and plays point guard at 6-6. He was a small forward at Syracuse due to the Orange having Judah Mintz.

Quadir Copeland: The junior from Philadelphia does a little bit of everything at both ends, but isn’t a great shooter (3 of 21 on three-pointers). His numbers might be modest in averaging 9.0 points, 3.3 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game, but he’s the straw that stirs the drink. He did come off the bench for 11 games.

D.J. Richards: While Copeland might not be a great shooter, Richards is a superb shooter. The 6-4 junior wing from Houston is a career 41.1 percent three-point shooter, and is at 45.0 percent this season. He also has come off the bench for 11 games. Richards, who played his freshman year at Texas-San Antonio, is averaging 10.1 points and 2.2 rebounds per game.

Javon Garcia: The 6-3 senior Garcia seems to be the glue guy for McNeese State. He played his first two years at UMass, and then the last two at McNeese State. He’s averaging 12.9 points and 3.5 rebounds per game, and is shooting 33.3 percent from three-point land.

Joe Charles: The listed 6-9, 215-pounder arrived from Louisiana-Lafayette this season, where he played his first three years. He is averaging 8.7 points and 7.1 rebounds per game, and he likes to launch three-pointers, and is 36.6 percent from beyond the arc.

Christian Shumate: The 6-6, 213-pounder from Chicago is the Cowboys junk yard dog and ace defender. He played his freshman year at Tulsa in 2020-21, and arrived pre-Wade to McNeese State four years ago. He’s been a double-digit scorer all four years and is averaging 10.5 points and 6.3 rebounds per game this season. He’s 16 of 53 on three-pointers.

Sincere Parker: The sixth man probably expected to start, but has been unselfish this season. He played in junior college and two years at Saint Louis, and averaged 15.9 points and 4.3 rebounds per game in 16 contests last year for the Billikens. He is averaging 12.1 points in 19.8 minutes per game this season.

Brandon Murray: The well-traveled 6-5 Murray signed with Wade at LSU out of high school. He then played at Georgetown and Ole Miss before landing at McNeese State. He has started 11 of 28 games and has been a glue guy type. He’s averaging 7.1 points and 2.1 assists per game, and shooting 34.9 percent on three-pointers.

Bryant Selebangue: The second post player is 6-8 and 225 pounds from Montreal, Canada. He’s spent time at junior college, Tulsa and Arizona State, and is averaging 3.9 points and 4.5 rebounds in 14.6 minutes off the bench this season.

T’Johnn Brown: The 5-11 sophomore point guard from Dalllas is averaging 4.3 points in 13.9 minutes per game, playing in 21 contests.

Omar Cooper: The 6-0 former junior college player is averaging 1.7 points and 3.2 assists in 17.0 minutes per game, and he started nine of 11 games he has played in. He went from Dec. 23-Feb. 23 injured.

Howard Gaskins: The freshman guard from Baton Rouge, La., is redshirting this season.

Jerome Brewer Jr.: The junior power forward is redshirting this season. He played his first two years at Texas A&M-Commerce, and averaged 13.8 points and 4.7 rebounds this season.

Alyn Breed: The three-year player at Providence got injured in the second game of the season. He had 17 points and five rebounds in the 72-64 loss to Alabama in the second game Nov. 11.
